My girlfriend received this email today and it looks suspect just wanted to check to see if anyone had received anything similar...

half a mill = immediate fake, for that much you'd get someone at your door + registered letter + they'd demand a receipt in person.

Also surely the Microsoft lottery would be well published, if they where giving out 2.5 mill every moth, without having to apply?

I apologise for sounding rude, but if you can read the paragraph above and not think to yourself "Something here is not quite right" then you deserve to get ripped off.
 
my rule is if you didn't willingly enter a prize draw, treat it as a scam even if there is real money to be had, that way you shouldn't fall for any no matter how genuine it could look
 
if you send me your bank details + £50 i will confirm its a scam and that you havent really won £500k

If you have to ask it probably is. Don’t click on links you don’t feel right about. Never enter personal data through anything but the main site and never download anything you haven’t requested. It’s t’internet 101!
