Hi guys I need your opinion on this matter which is bothering me.

I have been in the process of job hunting (accounting/admin work) and just couple of days ago I received this email from the following recruitment website: http://career-source.co.uk/welcome-to-career-source/. Well the recruiter had @career-source.co.uk after her name. Notice how the website doesn't have 'contact us' details

Notice how all the employees seem to be from UK.

Now I have been accepted in to the company without any interview and this is email from 'regional manager Mr Kiyoshi Yoneda':

Hello Adeel,

Let me introduce myself - my name is Kiyoshi Yoneda and I was assigned as your
Yakima FX personal manager.
First of all i should welcome you in the fast growing Yakima FX family
part of which you are become now.
Career-Source provided us your signed contract and now we will proceed to
the last stage of your hiring.

Please confirm once you'll receive this message!

If you have any questions regarding your employment and your position
- ask them!

I then ask him certain questions:

Dear Mr Yoneda

Thankyou very much for accepting me as 'Administrative Assistant' in the Yakima FX. I really appreciate it. I am also very excited about working for Yakima FX.

Before I proceed to asking about my employment, I just need to clarify a matter. On the application form, in one of the previous jobs, instead of giving monthly salary, I gave the annual salary.
The annual salary figure I wrote was £**** (Rough Estimate)
It should have been £**** monthly figure (Rough Estimate)

If that can be rectified I will very much appreciate it. I have informed ***** from Career Source Recruitment aswell.

As this is all new to me, I do have some questions regarding my employment.

I have been told that for now I will be working from my home as Yakima FX will be expanding in new offices in near future. So there is possibility that once those offices open up, my workplace can be relocated from my home to those offices?

As this is part time position, is there possibility of full time work in future?

Is this position of 'Administrative Assistant' temporary? If so, would it become permanent? Also would I be on probabtion period initially? If so, how long is the probation period?

Although I have worked in different fields as seen in my CV and application form, the foreign exchange is a new field to me. I am very excited about this field and no doubt working for Yakima FX will provide me with a lot of new knowledge and skills. I would like to ask what kind of training will be provided?

Also will there be an induction training where I can meet you face to face and become familiar with the organisation?

I have been told that monthly salary will be £1200 + commission. Can you please confirm this.

Finally I would like to ask what kind of tasks I would be carrying out in this position? I have been given job description and understand it. However I still need further insight into this position.

Thankyou very much again Mr Yoneda. If I have some further questions, I would let you know.

Best Regards,

Adeel Mirza

This is his reply without even answering my specific questions. It seems to be more of an automated email

Apparently my 'paperwork' has also been sent to HR department in tokyo.
I haven't given them any bank details yet and don't think I will do. It smells of scam.

I need to rely on OcUK community in this matter. I know it is pretty long but your help will be much appreciated.

:(

Do you guys think it is some money laundering scam?

I knew getting a job without any interview seemed too good enough to be true. Plus I have googled the address and doesn't seem to comeup with any concrete information except some narrow slum like alley.

Plus there is no mention of training or anything.

Give them bogus details and see where it leads.

The problem is they have my details. I think I won't proceed any further.

I mean give them bogus bank details, will probably cost them to try and do what they do.

It's a complete scam. Pretty obvious.

Plus there's the fact that as an employee of an international trader/financial instititution you would never, EVER EVER EVER be expected to use a personal bank account, in YOUR NAME, to transfer money between the business and clients.

I used that 'whoislookup' page on career service website and it seems to have been created just last year. Definitely a scam.

This is exactly what I thought. Seemed very strange 'cause I have never come across such thing before. I guess it is a good life experience to know I saved myself from almost getting scammed. Thanks to Ocuk community for their detective part aswell. :)

Also if you'd done a whois lookup on website of that so called company you'd find that the domain was only registered last month and is owned by a web hosting in the states.

How the hell can someone fall for something like this!? It really is beyond me...

3 hours work per day = £1,200-£3,000 a month!?!?!? REALLY?!
