Faking DOF in photoshop?

Anyone got any tips for this? Didn't know how to do it in max so I ended up just using blur filter in a feathered selection area in ps... not too sure about the outcome though...comments and suggestions appreciated!


P.S- DOF= depth of field

That looks absolutely fine to me. That's the way I'd do it - perhaps using the 'Lens Blur' filter instead of Gaussian.

You could try a different method for the graduated blur to fit the perspective - no idea how successful this would be though! Create a duplicate layer with lens blur at the maximum level you want it, and then place a layer mask over the top of it. Apply a black/white radial gradient to try and get the blur to be masked more appropriate to the perspective.
