Hello, hello,

Just installed Fallout 2 from a White Label budget series CD-Rom which it seems i bought in 2001 (the receipt was in the case) and upon installing the game it started to go weird, with the installation screen having really strange colours throughout.

I then tried playing it and certain area's of the screen, intro movies etc also have these random colourings. I've tried compatibility mode as Windows 95 and 98/ME and it just says it needs the CD to run even though it's in the CD-ROM drive.

Anyone know of a patch or got any idea's on how i could solve this?

Thanks :)

Hmmm, doesn't seem to work either. Still the same crazy colours.

Only difference is that it gives a different error, this time regarding Direct X, if you try and use compatibility mode. :(

Its probably a direct draw problem. When playing Icewind Dale and BG (both have the same graphics engine as Fallout 1 and 2) i have to turn direct draw off. This can easly be done on xp but with Win7 you have to down load third party software.

Ive not used the above but this is a link to the one i use for Icewind Dale, works a dream.

Dont forget to turn it back on when you are done playing.
