Fallout 3 1.7 CTD

hia getting an annoying CTD randomly when going through doors. anyone know how to resolve this issue. quite annoying.

have NMC full texture mod installed and High res blood texture mod also.

Are you absolutely certain no other mods [that don't involve just replacing textures] are installed, or have previously been installed during this character's game?

the only other mod ive installed is darker HUD mod but i deleted that because it would cause freezing a few secs into game play.

my CTD's happen every 30 -60 mins of gameplay btw.

Could be anything then, including a bad install of that hud mod

Not much to go on.

Before reinstalling [Steam file check etc] which you may already have done, I'd try starting a new character temporarily to see if the same thing happens. Make sure you have a solid save of your existing one first - not just quicksave/auto.

I get this with a vanilla install. There's never been a solution that worked as far as I know.

The solution would be to work out what's with your PC thats upsetting it! The game is worth persevering with. Were it not for the short main quest and the hopeless default vanilla game balance issues I'd rate it as a better rpg than Skyrim.

My guess would be background apps. Any time of activity from my anti virus will CTD it and I cant currently alt tab with my Fallout 3 steam install. Couldnt be bothered to start regression testing options in ATI catalyst and so on as the game loads and exits so fast anyway.
