Hi there. Not owning neither Fallout 3 nor New Vegas, i was wondering if you guys have heard of a bundle coming relatively soon. Logically it will be cheaper than the sum of both of them, maybe will come in a tidy box etc
Well?

Nope, and doubt there will be one to be honest. At least not anytime soon. There will be a New Vegas GOTY edition though, you can bet your mum.

Definitely do, it's a fantastic game. :)

The DLCs are worthwhile too (haven't got the weapons packs or Lonesome Road yet) so the GOTY edition will be a great buy.

One thing to bare in mind is once the main quest is over you can't continue. So if you want to do it all in a single playthrough without backtracking to an earlier save, do the DLCs before it finishes.

One of the DLC lets you carry on, can't remember which one, or you can just install a mod that will let you.

Really enjoying New Vegas. Can't explain why but I prefer it to Fallout 3. There's more... I don't know, it just feels more complete. Especially with a few mods :)

^^ None of the dlc's let you play on. Of course there are mods as you say though.

I don't think playing after the main quest is particularly essential anway in this, not as much as in Fallout 3 anyway. The main quest is very unfocussed(which i think is a great thing) so you can easily just go off and do whatever you want without it breaking the flow. In fallout 3 i didn't feel like doing any side missions until i had completed the main quest line, so it kind of had to continue.

It's a close call for me but I preferred Fallout 3 simply because it was my introduction to the series and New Vegas is essentially just more of the same. On their own merits I would probably agree that New Vegas is the better game.

Tempted to give the original 2 a playthrough at some stage, though I realise they are vastly different. As a veteran Elder Scrolls player the new ones were obviously very familiar in terms of the game engine and play system.

Oh ok my mistake! Must have been thinking about Fallout 3.

It's scary how much time I spent playing Fallout 3. Last count was just over 100 hours and I haven't finished all the DLC yet.

New Vegas? Probably not as much.. I'll complete the main quest, download Old World Blues and then call it a day. I don't see myself playing through them again either, just haven't got the time.

Finished a 150+ hour game of Fallout 3 earlier in the year. Some of the quest mods are briliiant.

New vegas imo is actually miles ahead of Fallout 3 when it comes to mods considering how long the games has been out. In Fallout 3 it was a nightmare trying to get everything to work together, but in New Vegas the authors have made a much greater effort to make everything compatible. I have a game going with about 100 mods running and haven't had a single ctd or any problems.

No I can't explain it either. Everything I've heard about New Vegas makes me believe it is a clone of Fallout 3 with a few extra features taken from FO3 mods packaged together in a very incomplete game with blatant sections cut out.

I think I will have to revisit new vegas some time, I compleated it once and came back for a 2nd play through but once I realised that all other main story lines involve me killing the brotherhood I sort of gave up and stopped as that was something that I didn't want my character to do, even if it meant missing all other story lines. With any luck there is a mod by now allowing the playing of the game without killing them.

I realy liked New Vegas, the best DLC was Old World Blues, i loled every time i spoke to the Toaster :p, the other ones i was just glad to get them out of the way :(

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or something but I also find New Vegas to be superior to F3, cant get enough of it.

Fallout 3 GOTY is now around £13 online & includes all DLC on 2 DVD's along with the game. Fallout New Vegas has not even announced a complete version yet & if its like Fallout3 GOTY the price will be full price as it will include all DLC.

Your best option is to buy Fallout3 GOTY now & wait the 12 months or so until a complete Fallout New Vegas version is out & reduced in price but thats not going to be anytime soon!
