Fallout 3 can't connect to the internet

I can use the internet just fine but when I try to setup Fallout 3 to use my existing Live account I keep getting a message telling me that Fallout 3 can't connect to the internet. I'm stumped.

try logging out of live then back in again, i think thats what i did... (whilst in game)

have you downloaded all the live updates?

i found it easier just to download the GFW update and manually install it

My Firewall is off. I can sign into Games for Windows Live. When I just use the Windows Live Software but I can't when trying to do so through Fallout 3.

I have Games for Windows Live 2.0 installed.

Have you inputted your serial number as Fallout3 and any other GFWL need this to connect otherwise they block it. If you never got the prompt to connect then the answer is no so load up Fallout 3 then select the LIVE menu or hit either the Home key on your keyboard or hold down the Xbox guide button on your 360 controller (if your using one) otherwise:

Yes I did input the Serial number.It was on a little sticker below where the DVD goes.

Check your firewall as I found that lots of games do not always add an entry to this and even if your firewall is turned off you may still need an entry in there. Otherwise look at those GFWL support links as lots of helpful info direct from MS.
