If you buy f3 on steam, how does one go about getting the dlc for it? Just buy/install as usual or does it have to wait untill steam add it on their store?

The 2nd and final DLC is coming out very soon!!

Im sure without a dout the will release a special version of the game which comes with all 3 expansions for a cheaper price.

Might be worth waiting for that if you can.

Fallout 3 on Steam uses the Games for Windows thingybob. Basically MS's pee poor implementation of the 360 Marketplace. You can't obtain DLC from Steam/Valve as Beththehehsda distribute their DLC through Games for Windows.

So you'd buy/install the game from steam, which runs GFW in the background (of sorts), and that will notify you of any updates to the game (patches and DLC). Through GFW you need to buy MS Points in order to purchase the DLC.

Steam itself has nothing to do with the DLC at all. It's all time through GFW, which is actually quite smooth to use on the PC for DLC's tbh.

Might as well get it now as the next DLC is apparently meant to be big. The first two DLC's were pretty pants tbh, and just too similar to Oblivion's DLC, whose engine Fallout 3 shares. It'll be hard enough going from Lv20-30 once the next DLC arrives and extends the cap upto 30.

The core game is great tbh, dlc so-so.

aye i played it when it launched (my mates copy) but formatted shortly after. Wanting to play it again all the way through :D
