hi
ive downloaded dlc for fallout 3 . ive entered the game and the dlc has appeared on my map but when i get there there is nothing there
can anyone help

no nothing at all . im on level 11 . ive finished it twice but playing it a 3rd time as its awsome lol . do i have to get to level 20 to access the dlc .its the swamp one

i got on a beached boat to collect some ammo and some stuff in some cases
but the boat didnt look like it was going nowhere ir have i missed something

Are there not any people to talk to by the boat? You need to buy a ticket off the captain / boat bloke and then sleep in the bed once you have it.

yes through gfwl . ive d/loaded it a few times and nothing has come up. what am i doing wrong .

If you downloaded through GfWL it installs into C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC rather than the game folder

I installed BS/PL/TP/OPA from the retail disks into the game folder and downloaded MZ through GfWL, all worked fine together.

Go to the game main menu and click on Downloaded Content or something like that, it should have the DLC listed there


Also have a look at C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Fallout3 at the notepad file to which of the DLC is listed there

im close to giving up here . i paid my money and this is well bad . why cant they do dlc the same as consoles . its so easy
when i go back on to gfwl it says i havnt d/loaded anything

Well it sounds as though for some reason its not registering that you have bought it (You are using the same username/gamertag to access it right??).

Go to the MS forums as they have a dedicated Fallout3 tech support and I am 100% sure they will be able to resolve this & or someone else has had a similar issue:

However, Fallout3 needs to be patched to the latest version and also the DLC works best if you have Fallout3 installed on your Windows drive. If the DLC is not appearing in the main game menu then that is usually either:

1: Your not signed into GFWL.

2: It cannot find the main Fallout 3 folder on your PC.
 
Maybe a long shot but I believe there can be problems if Fallout 3 is not installed on the same drive and partition as your OS.

Now I've got my install on a completely different drive and never had a problem but that's not to say that it might not be a problem for you.

Your other idea that perhaps you need to be at level 20 may be worth investigating as Point Lookout was extremely tough in terms of overpowered enemies so maybe they have a restriction in place preventing low level players from getting there?
