In the pip-boy menu does ammo like 5.56mm show up as 556 (without the full stop)?
Ammo that has the . in front of it like .44 shows up but not in the middle.

I've been deactivating mods including UI ones but the problem is still there, surely it can't be like that in vanilla? (i modded up before playing).

Weird question much.

and you should never play modded up first, play vanilla first, get a feel for the game, finish the game, then play around with mods and such.

I've never had a problem like that all my ammo and weapons show the caliber normally

I've played FNV, FO3 is basically the same and i already knew i couldn't live with the UI and such after i did the escape from home unmodded.
I don't have the time and i don't enjoy 2nd runs through games, with a couple of exceptions, especially when they are 40+ hours.

Thanks, i shall keep investigating.

yeah it is in vanilla. i wondered it

a simple check of said weapons ammo count and then a check in pip boy will show its the same.

its not effect of a mod

Ive played 80 hours..im not even into the top third of the map, only a handful of places into the top half!

Do you have any mods that may affect it? Guy above says it's not like that in vanilla?

5.56mm is metric, .44 is imperial (inches). Most weapons will use one or the other. 5.56= .223, iirc. Some weapons in the game (the M16 and M4 types) have ammo listed under both - god knows why, but they do.

? You may have misunderstood. the problem is in the weapons list when you click on, say, a 10mm smg it shows the ammo it uses as 556 instead of 5.56.

Funnily enough in the Ammo list it is displayed correctly, just not in the weapon viewer.

Well why didn't you say that :p
