There are still many problems with Fallout 3 and every OS, however the majority of them are easily fixable now.

i have no problems with fallout 3 on steam, im running windows 7 64bit, a lot more stable than farcry3, which for me is very poor atm

its in the sale on steam but 2.49 at another site, but if steam is more stable ?

Game of the year edition will be on steam sale soon no doubt for around 3 quid with every DLC.

Only ever played it with W7. Had no issues. I assume that there probably were at release before patches.

The mods I used with it had built in community patches as well. In fact, all the big mods were in a stable mature stage by the time I got round to playing it for the first time last year.
