Fallout 3

uh think the gog and steam versions are 1.7.0.4 or something, the latest patches removed Games for Windows Live. Dunno if you can run it without that removed

Stop multicore crashes by editing with notepad: (THIS SOLVES MOST CRASHES!)
My Documents\my games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.INI
find (control F) bUseThreadedAI=0
CHANGE to bUseThreadedAI=1
Immediately after this line, ADD this new line:
iNumHWThreads=2

got that from google?

Another thing was turn down the gfx to low tho i dunno if that would really fix it.

If you have an RTX GPU remember to disable weapon debris. Constant crashes with it enabled, not a single crash with it disabled, or least that’s how it was for me.

I had that when I reinstalled FO4, drove me nuts until I googled and found out the cause, Win11 problem, apparently. Or maybe due to having an RTX card, as you say.

Luckily, someone had made a mod to fix it, worth checking out NexusMods to see if there's a fix for FO3.

It’s in the Advanced Options screen within the graphics settings when you launch the game and the pop-up appears with Launch, Options, Settings, etc.

Go into the options, graphics options, advanced or something similar.

It’s not in the in-game options once it’s running.
