Downloaded FO4 for PC despite completing it 100% on Xbox with no other goal than to see what all the fuss was about in terms of it being hard to run. Haven't played much since I popped the RX480 in there so I thought id test it out. Surprised that I got a solid 60fps with the exception of the most explodey (new word!) battles where it would dip slightly.

Thought the pack would make it a little harder to run, but I'm still getting the same FPS of 60 or thereabouts.

I know I have an 8gb card but I'm guessing it hasn't installed properly. Anything else I need to do in steam to activate it? Doesn't look any better to me so I'm guessing it isn't working.

Ive got to say, even with this huge CPU bottleneck I'm rendering FO4 at 4k at acceptable FPS (30-40), has it been patched or improved in any way or is the hype a little bit over exaggerated?

See sig for my spec, don't get why I am not having more problems with this game considering what I'm running. Ive even gone mad with a mini nuke to see how it responds and it only dips to mid to high 20's on 4k via VSR (30-40 at 1080p)

I haven't tried the official high res pack yet but from what I've read on here, there isn't much difference at all - apart from nearly a 60gb installation.

Ive sorted it now.

Looks a bit better and does come with a performance hit.

After having perfect FPS on the outskirts of Boston I have coc'd into the parts I remember being worst on the XB1 (inner city) and it dipped all the way down to 18fps during a firefight even on 1080p. That sounds more like it! haha.

Don't understand how this game can look so poor yet tax the system so much. Ive tested without the texture pack and I am at 45 fps in these areas so it must make a big difference.

Still, playing at Ultra, texture pack and still higher FPS than the XB1 so Its a bonus. XB1 looks like it goes as low as 10fps in these areas on the equivalent of the low to medium settings on PC and it crashes constantly.

Chris you will be better off getting unofficial mods as you will get a much better graphical experience than that awful high res texture pack and a much smaller size.
