Fallout MMORPG?!?

My mate reckons Fallout 3 has been thrown to the dogs but apparently there is now a fallout mmorpg in development - anyone else heard about this??? I'm at work so cant check to see if he is right or not but dear god if he speaks the truth......

Bethesda (makers of Morrowind and Oblivion) are currently working on Fallout 3 and I think they now own the IP. However I think interplay have a license to make a mmorpg but i don't think much progress has been made.
