fallout NV question regarding npc's

on my way to novac and came across a trader with his 2 brahims i was dealing with him when out of the blue 5 legion's just seemed to spawn behind him, and well put blunt shot the poop out of him.

Should this sort of thing be happening should i

A, loot the body for everything it's worth and press on
B, load up a earlier save to see if it happens again
C, stop being a idiot and carry on ( i just didn't think traders got into fights with anyone on fallout)

Load up a save to see if it happens again. It does happen sometimes, but once they're dead you can't trade with them any more, and some trades can have some good stuff.

possible his guards *****ed of some legionaries at some point an they came after him, and only caught up when you talked to him.


iirc the wondering traders re spawn anyway, loot him an move on.

If your last save wasn't that long ago then load it up again to see if it happens. Otherwise loot and move on, once you get to the vegas area there will be a lot more traders with mega caps and decent gears to trade.

Load save if you saved recently, unless you want to be realistic then go with what Tefal said. I don't think you would have missed much from the trader, none of the traders seem to sell anything good, they're handy to offload gear if your on your way to a new waypoint and you don't want to fast travel, they tend to have little money to buy items off you in any case.

I've seen loads of trader-Legion gunfights and there's always plenty of traders about, so I imagine they respawn. Just loot the bodies from both sides and carry on your way
