Fallout problem: blanking screen

i got fallout yesterday, but i can't play it because every 5 or so seconds, the screen blanks out, only to be releaved by the mouse cursor. this makes the game extremely difficult to play.

so far i've tried running the game in 98 compatability mode, but that doesn't help

does anyone know of any fixes for this problem?

If you don't get any help with one of the best games ever made, Might be worth a look over at NMA one of the best fallout sites there is.

No Help at all but the same problem happens to me when I ALT+TAB out of it.

If you do find a fix, I would be forever in your debt.

Try some of the older graphics card drivers. It's a pain to swap them over, but Fallout is one of the finest gaming experiences a person can have and well worth the effort.
