I'm getting really poor performance with this game,it's ok indoors but outside i get major slow down and just poor performance in general,even when i lower the graphics settings it aint great,anyone else get this?
 
I'm running a single OC 4850 everything maxed just fine in 1680x1050. Have you tried reinstalling the game to see if that helps?
 
Quick thread hijack!

I have just RMA'ed my 4850 and am back on a 1900XT, I have Fallout sitting there. Question is should I try to play it with the 1900XT or sit patiently until I get my 4850 back? Is it playable with a 1900?

Any thoughts appreciated, thank you.

My mate seems to play it with a 1950pro, amdx2 @ 1280x960 with 4x aa, 8x af, and a mix of high to ultra settings ( ultra default but tweaked some things down a bit)...

Therefore I think you will be fine... Can always play on ''high'' instead of ''ultra'' and a bit less AA&AF for a few days/weeks...

I will wait and see what is happening with my RMA. If it looks like they will send it back to the manufacturers I will try it probably. Anyone have any idea how long an RAM usually takes? Card is out of its 28 day replacement phase.

What manufacturer ?
Some can take ages as it needs to be sent to asia or wherever...
Others take long simply because their service is **** ( Asus for example).
 
It is a HIS Iceq4.

Skeeter - That is very promising, what resolution are you playing at? I will be at 1280*1024.
 
2900XT, 4GB RAM (on XP tho), 3.15ghz 6300 and I can play ultra with 2xAA, 8xAF on 1680x1050 generally getting around 40fps in the open, dipping sometimes close to 30.
 
running this on a 1.8dual core with an 8800GT, runs perfectly on 1650x1080 with max settings inc aa anf af

You haven't changed iFPSClamp have you?
