False readings?

Hi,

I've had an overclock on my E6600 running for a long time now (or at least I thought I had). Have just come to check it out using Everest and I find its not running at 3.5GHz (x9 multiplyer) that I thought it was. It says 2334.1 MHz with a multiplyer of x6 instead.

I've check using another application - CPU-Z and this reports the same thing yet in the BIOS it states x9 multiplyer and 3.5GHz. I have tried resetting the multiplyer in the BIOS and then changing it back and this does solve the problem in windows.

Anyone any ideas on this? What is the true reading?

Hi GT,

I've just set the EIST to disable but it keeps switching when I go into windows between x6 and x9. Do I need to disable C1E too?
