It's been 4-5 years since my last build (Ivy Bridge) and I have a pretty specific set of requirements for this one:
Total: £1,695.60
(includes shipping: £11.70)
Design decisions
Case:
I was going to go for the Parvum Veer, but I'm not keen on the front logo and I think a steel chassis will stand up to shipping abroad better.
Plenty of room for addiitonal cooling fans and scope to water cool the GPU in future.
CPU:
Already delidded means it should run substantially cooler. I can always run at lower speed should the Spanish weather prove too much.
PSU:
The new LeadexII are rated for continuous operation at 30C and can also run fanless in ECO mode
Will post a few Photos as we go along. Any comments on parts selection welcome
- Wife and family friendly. With a new son in the house the times of me having my own "man-cave" are almost over so downsizing from my Silverstone Raven is a must as is an overall appearance that won't intrude too much in the living area.
- As good as I can for a reasonable cost to give some element of future proofing. I'm unlikely to have this much spare cash in the future
- Tolerant of high temperatures. We may move to Spain in the next few years, so something that only "just" cools acceptably in UK weather won't do
