Family wedding dilemma

But who will hold the man size tissues if she can't go !!

Going to a wedding alone would be quite awkward i would imagine, you would feel out of place in most conversations, at least with your partner you have someone to chat too like the other couples that have been invited.

It aint easy doing wedding invites, we are getting married in 3 months and did ours last month which is quite late as it's really tricky.

We did end up biting the bullet & invited all family with their partners even one or two we have never met, it's expensive doing a wedding and inviting everyone, if everyone comes it adds about £3k onto the cost over what we originally planned

Then you plan properly then surely?

Could be worse, could not get invited to your actual best friends wedding because his other half doesn't like you and some lame excuse "the day is all about her".

We aint particularly good friends anymore after that.

I'd decline, perhaps including a passive aggressive note indicating that I've now saved them even more than they had already saved by not inviting my long term girlfriend.
