Hi

I currently have the three fans that came with the EK kit I bought set up to exhaust air out of my case as below:

As I am going to be watercooling the two 7950's I assume that it will not be a problem for me to turn the fans around to blow cold air over the radiator rather than pull warm air through it? This surely will help lower temps...

I am also going to change the fans for something quieter with more perfomance. What would you recommend? I see the gentle typhoons have good reviews also the Phobya nano g.... to be fair I have no idea what to go for

Any advice as always appreciated :)

1. Presumably those fans currently exhaust air out the top of the case? If so, I would leave them doing that. Regardless, it will make little difference, maybe a degree or two if you're lucky.

2. Do you have a fan controller? If so, it doesn't really matter what fans you get as you have control over them :) If not and you don't plan on getting one, Vipers are very good as are the Gntle Typhoons. I have this controller with 6 Vipers hooked up to it and can thoroughly reccomend it:

That's right they do currently exhaust air out of the case. Due to the depth of the radiator in the roof of the case I was unable to fit fans to the underside blowing air out through the radiator. it currently looks like this:

I do have a fan controller - but it needs replacing as one of the channels is dead. The EK fans are still quite noisy even with the rpm turned down.

Will it really make no difference if they pull cold air in from the outside? I suppose when the cards are underwater there will be a little less heat inside the case anyway...

Can't go wrong with Scythe GT's bud. Get some 1850RPM's and just adjust the speed on your fan controller to whatever you need.

Thanks for the reply - is there much difference between the 1850's and the 1450's (as they are in stock) bearing in mind i wouldn't be using them at full speed anyway?

not to my knowledge, I bought the 1850's because my radiator really shines at 1700-1800RPM, so I just put it on that when I start gaming or doing anything intensive. Otherwise I just have them running at about 1200. They were also the same price as the 1450 so I thought why the hell not, at least the option will be there :D Although if you don't plan on putting them on the fan controller (don't see why you wouldn't though), then go with the 1250/1450RPM versions, as I think the EK radiators perform best at these speeds.
