Hey
As looking at changing things around, I am after some new fans and a new fan controller but looking for input into possible choices.
Fans: They will be used mainly on rads with a couple of normal case fans. The case fans will be painted so must be able to be taken apart easily. This has led me to come to either using Yate Loons or Scythe GT’s. The GT’s are around 3 times the price though of the Yate Loons for not that much greater stats (which we all know fan manufacturers are hard to believe anyway) So for those who have used them, are Yate Loons good enough to compete are GT’s for the fraction of the cost they are? Or should I just lump for the GT’s straight off?
Fan Controller: Need a fan controller with a minimum of 5 channels and the higher that watts per channel the better. For this I have come down I have come down to Scythe Kaze Master pro, Lamptron FC2 or Lamptron FC8. Scythe has the rpm figure and temperature (at the moment only use my temperature sensor for ambient) but as pc doubles for gaming and some htpc then I don’t like the bright display, I also like that you can turn fans off though rarely needed. Roll on the Lamptrons, FC2 seems to be the obvious choice, enough channels and low lighting but reading some reviews people have had problems with it actually being able to rotate fans and varying amounts of voltage across channels. The FC8 reviews seem to suggest that these problems have been addressed. Also going for both lamptrons is aesthetically I think they are better looking than the Scythe.
So if you read all that congrats and anyone who has experience with any would you recommend it or a different fan or fan controller?
Greboth.
