Fan connections

Hello I have just ordered 2x SP Corsair fans 120mm for my H100i
and 2 AF (non pwm) for my case.

Should I have bought PWM fans instead? or will I still be able to control the speed?

If you have a fan controller then yes, you can still control them.

Depends on your motherboard. Some can do voltage control to a level which is close to PWM, others are just useless.

the corsair fans also come with a 7v resister cable.

so u can try that out and see if it meets ur noisy and cooling needs first

I have non-PWM fans plugged into my Gigabyte Z87X-DH3 mobo which is all PWM and the BIOS allows for silent, normal and full speed settings. So I set them all at normal and can't hear anything - means I don't need to replace my broken fan controller.
