Fan connector

I am building a computer for a neighbour, the motherboard only has connections for 2 fans, the CPU fan and one more.
In total I need to connect another 3 fans, would a Y splitter cable that connects to the motherboard header be alright, if so which voltage one do I need, 5, 7 or 12.
Or would it be better to use a modem to fan splitter.

Molex to fan splitter
As if the fans you connect to the mob draw too much power you `could`fry the board
or get a fan controller

Getting a molex to fan splitter does mean that your fans are always running at max speed, so they may be quite loud.

Assuming you have 3 pin fans `some`splitters have 7v/10v/5v reducing cables
