Hi

hoping someone can help. I have a fan connected with the connector shown below:

id like to run a second fan as a slave using the same power cable for both fans. Is that possible? I can’t find a splitter cable with this adaptor type.

Any help much appreciated.

thanks

What system is it? What brand and model? Maybe with that info we can find some place to get your connectors from.

About all you can do is splice a 2nd fan socket to plug 2nd fan into or just splice fan lead into what you have. Either way will work, but you have to at least strip of a little insulation off of existing wires to splice new wires into it.

Its actually for a light fitting, cooled by 2 fans that look like they came straight out of a PC. So no idea on branding... I had hoped connection was standard.
So I'll splice as you suggest. Assume 11A / 0.5mm2 will be the right cable?

Thanks.

Don't know if that's good enough or not without knowing fan specs. Farnel chart shows 0.5mm2 diameter wire rated about 3amp, and 1.0mm2 being 10amp so probably okay, but I would rather error with using too big a wire size than take a chance on being too small and having it burn out.

many thanks again.
Ok will go for 1mm2 and hope all ok.
Again, appreciated.
