On my mates computer his fans go on if it reaches a certain temp on his water cooling setup which makes it perfect as its so silent and I was wondering how would I do this?
A software controlled fan controller such as mcubed bigNG or aquacomputer aquaero coupled with temperature probes, with fan profiles set up to come on/ramp up at certain temperatures (most likely of the water).
This is what ive got, you set the probes up, set the temps for each probe to come on at then connect the desired fans to come on and cool the area, rad, mobo etc.
Ive got a MM case and the graphics card sits at the front, one temp probe on the card and as soon as i start a game the temp rises and brings on the 2 fans in front of it. (its not a full cover cooler as standard and ive not got a full cover block, hence why i need some airflow over it!)
Same with the rads, ive got a 240 rad with the CPU fan on, then a temp sensor on the rad controlling the other fan, as soon as the water heats up the fan comes on for extra cooling. Done the same with the 120 rad and fan too.
This is running it on auto, there's a semi auto mode, this allows you to control the fan speeds at certain temps and the manual mode lets you leave the fans on all the time at your selected speed.
