fan control

Hey all,

My mother board has 6 fan headers, 1 for the cpu, 2 is an optional cpu header and 3,4,5,6 are for case fans etc.

I'm currently using the cpu header for my WC pump and the rest for the rad fans.

However the optional cpu header restricts the rpm of the fan to 600rpm if I have q-fan enabled in the bios.

If I turn q-fan off the fan goes up to its maximum rpm but I lose the warning system for the cpu header as they are both under the same option, meaning if my pump fails i'll get no warning.

Can any one recommend a good fan control program that I can set warnings on in the event of a pump failure and has manual control of all the fan headers?

Aida64 has alerts for CPU temp, fan rpm etc. I currently have it set to shut down the PC if the CPU or GPU go above certain temps. It will also shut down if the H100i pump or the custom loop pump go below certain rpm.

If you want fan speed control, then a fan controller is an option but obviously you will have to spend £30-40 for that. Aida isn't free either.

That's how my system is set up, but maybe someone can give you options that don't cost any cash.

cheers for the reply.

I'll check out aida but ideally I was after something free.

All the fans are pwm so was hoping to control them from the MB
