Fan Controller advice

Hi, recently purchased 4 YS Tech 80mm fans. I'm very happy with their performance (lowered temps 4 degrees all round compared to my old generic fans), however they're bloody noisy.

I'm looking for a fan controller to try and find a happy performance/noise medium. Problem is that 2 of the fans are 4pin molex and the other 2 are 3 pin mobo connection type.

Are there any fan controllers that would accommodate this? Looks are unimportant as it'd be hidden behind my case door anyway.

Cheers n beers

The best thing to do IMO would be either to 7v all the fans, or remove the molexes from the ends and solder the red and black cables to a 34 pin extension cable with one end removed, then plug it into the fan controller normally

The 7V thing looks very interesting. Do you know what effect it will have on the fan CFMs? Is it proportionally less? i.e. 7/12s of rated CFM?

I think a dedicated fan controller might be better along with those wire adapter things Bri mentioned. Do OCUK do them?

Is cheap and cheerful ok with regards these controllers? Don't have to spend 40 quid do i? lol

Cheers

The CFM goes down with the noise, depends on the fan by how much but usually the 'sweet spot' is 7v, or the middle of a fan controllers knob. ;)

OcUK do stock the adapters and also a selection of quite nice fan controllers. :)
