I am going to have 6 corsair performance sp120 fans running off a fan controller with 5 channels. Each channel can support up to 10w. Does any one know how many fans each of these will support before they slow down? I want to have 4 with 1 fan on each and then have the fifth connection have two fans, but I am worried the fans that share will be slowed down.

Thank you.

Well, if it doesn't like running 2 on 1 channel, the worst case is that you'll have to run 1 off the mobo.

I was gonna suggest a very nice Lamptron Fc6. I love mine :) Pimp, but not in your face.

I had looked at that FC but seems a shame to buy a new one when this works fine. I looked online and it said Wattage is the amp*voltage so on these fans that would mean each fan is 2.16W, which I am dubious about because that would mean a fan controller with 30W per channel could run hundreds of fans in total.

in theory the fc5 v2 (30w per channel) could run all those fans. its probably a waulity bit of kit.

you will be fine with two fans per channel on your current fan controller. one thing id do though is always buy the fastest version of the fan you want to control.

only way to see if it works is to try it. i think you will be fine.
