I have a NZXT Sentry II with the "Fan Noise Problem", so I am going to replace it with a different controller.

I cannot decide between:

Lamptron FC9
NZXT Sentry Mix.

I bet that noise is PWM kick growl. I wonder why NZXT decided to put the PWM frequency in the audible range.

The Lamptron out of those two seems the better option. Good strong components at the back with massive inductor and large heatsunk Mosfets lead me to believe that this controller can drive a lot of current. The NZXT on the other hand has just SOIC components with much smaller inductors.

+1 for the FC9

Mine is perfect for my needs, with the 0V to 12V I can make my PC silent or max the fans for take off. I have a large CPU cooler as well so the system runs silent for internet etc...

The only choice you should ever have to make with a fan controller is either Lamptron or Aquero ;)

Lamptron for multi fan per channel use (as pointed out above, I think the lowest in the range is 40w, which is 30w more than most others offer)

Aquero for automated functionality, think these are 10w channel, but the software included will control your fans automatically :)

I'm a very happy Lamptron FC5 V2 owner - love it.
