Fan Controller help

After upgrading my pc, for some bizarre reason my Scythe Kaze Fan controller has decided its not going to turn on. I have added another fan to the system so I am assuming its decided its had enough and packed up.

If this is the case, does anyone have any recommendations for a replacement, and are these things really necessary?

Only if you need or want to change the speed of fans attached to it. I have a cheap one with two fans attached but haven't touched the dials in a year. Some people like to adjust speeds when they do intensive tasks and then slow them back down at idle, it becomes handy then.

As for the Scythe controller not working it might be something simple like a fuse blown. Might be worth having a look to see if it's something obvious. Or take a picture and post it of the circuit board if you are unsure what to look for.
