Fan Controller Issue

I have just purchase a Zalman ZM-MFC1 Combo fan controller (http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=376) as this seems to be the best price product that meets my needs. Channel one is a PWM mode channel which I thought would be perfect to have at arm’s length control of my CPU cooler which is an Artic Freezer 13 (http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/cpu/3/freezer-13.html) The only issue is when this is connected the PWM light on the front panel is constantly red and keeps running the fan up no matter what PMW mode it’s in. I set the controller to manual and turn it down and it makes an audio able high pitched noise. Also looking in my BIOS (MSI 970A-G46) it doesn’t seem to receive a signal as the RPM at the processor fan level showing 0 rpm.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

You did remember to plug the 4 pin lead that carries the tach signal back into the motherboard, right? The red light looks to be a feature to let you know it's in PWM mode. As for the rest. No idea.
