Hi guys,

I have a zalman-mfc1 plus fan controller.

I want to know the best config for my fans. I have the cm storm scout case with the following fans

  • rear x1 venom 120mm 4 pin pwm
  • top x1 venom 140mm 4 pin pwm
  • front x1 140mm 4 pin pwm
  • side x2 xilence 120mm 3 pin no pwm

the fan controller supports x6 3 pin.

im planning to buy a phantek cooler with comes with a pwm adaptor.

is it best to plug the case fans(in particular the venoms) to the controller or on the pwm motherboard(z77 d3h) if i plug the venom into the 3 pin fan controller i will loose the pwm function(is that important)

also does the cpu fans have to be plugged to the motherboard cpu fan header or am i ok to plug them directly into the 3 pin controller fan and controll them from there ?

otherwise i was planning to use the pwm adaptor with the phantek

motherboard cpu 4pin header----->phantek pwm adaptor----->zalman active rpm sensing cable(has two branches 1 to controller and other to fan----->fan controller)---->3-Pin Y-Splitter--->-------->phantek fan 1--------->phantek fan 2
