Right-o, just a quick one. I can't change my CPU fan speed in BIOS and can't change it with speedfan, i was wondering if i bought a fan controller would i then be able to change the CPU fan speed ?
Yep you could hook it up direct and change it that way although I wouldn't suggest it. What motherboard are you using? Can you not change how it works? i.e. 60% @ 50oC etc?
It's on my second machine which as an OEM, so BIOS Etc.. are completely locked-up. It's currently idle at 50oC and on load about 70oC and the fan speed never changes.
I'm thinking about changing the fan to this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-017-AR and using a fan controller to adjust the speed, would that work alright ?
I have my GFX card fan wired to the fan controller as it was running at 100% all the time with no way to control it. So I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work with AC 7. You won't need the fan running much with that heatsink as it does a pretty good job of dissipating heat on its own.
