hey guys been looking getting a 900d and water cooling my system just wondering i would run x2 480 rad with a 240 so with all the case fans and rad how would i control 14 fans :) as i would like to be able to turn up and down and when gaming ever fan controller i looked at only has 5/6 3 pin connectors

thanks

I think the best way would be to use 7v adapters or depending how many fan headers your motherboard, some splitters but no more then 2 per channel.

I've got 14 fans in my 900D connected up to the CPU_FAN header on my Rampage IV using these cables

Does the job fine, everything is managed using AISuite

Assuming you're using PWM fans that should be the case.

Basically I've got 2 of those Akasa cables to connect up all the fans (2 fans on the 240 rad are connected to the akasa cable via a Y splitter). The two akasa cables get their PWM feed from another Y splitter straight off the CPU_FAN header.

Hopefully that makes sense

If the fans are powered externally by the SATA power connector tied to the 12V and GND connectors of the fans and just the PWM signal from the fan header is passed through to all the fans, you can chain an indefinite amount of fans and they will all work at the specified RMP. It works even better if all the fans are the same but I see no reason why it won't work with different PWM fans. Just the % of RPM will result in differences in the acoustic performance.
