Fan Controllers - HELP!

Hi all, it's been a while.

My computer seems to be allergic to fan controllers (if ones connected to the power supply the system will not post (fans spin for a split second and then nothing). My new lamptron FC5V3 won't work in my build, but will in my brothers. And my brothers controller doesn't work in mine. (No fans connected to the controller)

Previously I was using fan hubs (if that makes any difference)

I've used the cables from my brothers computer and that doesn't work either (tried different slots on the power supply but to no avail).

I think it's fair to say that it's a problem with my build but I can't figure out what? Any suggestions on things I can try?
Thanks for your help

Not something stupid like forgetting to turn the fan dials up?
It's most likely something stupid that you've just missed...

Are you drawing more than 30w on any one channel, maybe?

I'm pretty certain it will have something to do with the CPU header, as Twinkle suggested, but only because of similar problems I've experienced before. However, in those cases I believe the PCs all booted to BIOS at least and/or flagged up as a CPU_FAN problem.
Either you're pulling too much current through that header (not likely if you have nothing connected) or it's panicking because there isn't anything connected for it to read (more likely).

Try connecting just one fan direct to the CPU header and seeing if it will turn on.
If so, there's probably something in the BIOS where you can completely disable monitoring for that header. I know you said you'd disabled that, but I'm wondering if you'd accidentally re-enabled it or something has reset it - Most liquid cooling solutions I know of still require you to connect the AIO or the pump to the CPU_FAN, so that the system has *something* to read - In this case the pump rpm.

Something else you can try to confirm this is putting a jumper clip on the ATX cable and powering up, to see if the fans still power up through the Lamptron when the motherboard is bypassed. If so, then I'd be even more certain that it's the CPU_FAN issue...
