What the best fan controller that i can get from OCuk. Is the Akasa AK FC-03 Fan Controller Pro (OA-002-AK) any good, cause i may get that if its the best i can get?

Also with the fan controllers does the fan pin go striaght into the controller, or does it do that Zalman Fan Mate 2 thing where theres a pin that goes into ** mobo as well as the fan pin going into the controller? (not just for that Akasa by the way)

I've seen a few people reccomending that, but why? What makes it so good?

Is it hardware or software controlled? ie. Would it work with Linux for example? Plus, how does it actually get affixed to the case? It looks like a standalone module to me.

Can the Akasa FC-03 F power 12cm fans? Still deciding if I need one, the four 12cm in the stacker are very quiet. CPU fan is controlled in BIOS. I guess if the stock fans are loud at full rpm one of these is useful? Although alarms useful also as I don't keep temp. monitors running in the BG. Does the unit monitor CPU & motherboard temp?

Yes the Akasa FC-03 can power 120mm fans. It also has 4 temp sensors that you can place where you want. The alarm is useful to show a failed fan.
Its gives you the option of reducing fan speed and thus noise.
