Ok, newbie stupid question coming up....

Fan Controllers. I'm building a custom PC and it'll have 4 fans, bar the one on the CPU & Graphics Card.

When using a fan controller, am I right in thinking that I just plug the fans into the controller, and the controller into one of the fan ports on the board?

Is it that simple or have I missed something key?

Also, can I use any fans with any controller?

Yeah most fan controllers have there own power supply from the PSU, and then simply plug each fan onto a header on the back of the fan controller. Simples :)

Jeez really is that simple!

Cheers for your help :)

It really is that simple. Fan controllers are generally 'stand-alone', in fact I don't know of one that takes it's cue from the mainboard. (I could be wrong though)

Some fan controllers come with temp probes to give you a modicum of 'auto' control.
