Fan ducts

Anyone use them? Have a Cosmos S "Sport" case and was tempted to duct the intake fun from the bottom of the case straight into my 4870X2 fan? What are your thoughts on this and ducts in general? Any of you use them?

I wouldn't have thought that ducting directly onto the VGA card would make any significant difference, especially considering the fact that your Coolermaster case has the huge side fan blowing air directly onto that area anyway.

You may find that you have better success by removing the cover on the card and using a vantec spectrum. Removing the cover will signifcantly improve the airflow around the heatsinks. Although the spectrum can be noisey, you could hook it up to a fan controller to reduce the speed down further than the installed controller allows.

You could also try a pci card exhaust fan above the card to pull heat off the back of it, if you have room.

Would an actual duct not create a build up of warm air around the end at the card itself?
