Has anyone found something like this in the UK? I've found a couple of US sites selling it, but no-one in the UK. Basically looking for a fairly large piece to be used as a dust filter on a top panel. Similar to what Phanteks use on their cases.

Like this...

No been trying myself vaguely... let me know if you do at the moment all I've got too is eBay mesh and make something to fix it.

was looking myself a while ago and found these
http://www.themeshcompany.com/index.html

just find whatever type of mesh you want, then if you want to make something like the one picture.. you can buy magnet tape (pretty sure thats whats on there anyway) its magnetic on one side, sticky on the other :D

hope this helps

I have a similar question. I want a roll of mesh filter material that is nylon. As nylon pass thru the most air. I don't care what website it is, UK or US or elsewhere. A search on the internet shows co. like newegg that sell the mesh filter in a roll in PVC material, but not nylon

decifilter sells filter w/ nylon, but they have to sell me the plastic edge, so they are selling 1 filter at a time, which is more $ than just the sheet

Yeah that's what I was looking for also. It's a shame Demciflex don't sell their mesh on its own by the role, but I guess that wouldn't make much business sense for them given how much their filters cost. The site Tupro linked above is actually quite good, but they don't seem to have any nylon products, they all seem to be metal based. They do have a fibreglass one though which seems the closest thing.

I found this:

could some of you have a look and tell me if we can do this on PC :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Mesh-14...702375?hash=item1ec4149627:g:biYAAOSwDKtY15mD

it's ebay item no. 132138702375

it says 100 Mesh/149 Micron Nylon Filter Mesh Cloth Fabric Water Liquid Strain Polyester

what is 100 mesh / 149 micron means? and what is the ratio that we need for PC filter?

Also, I found:

Yeah, as per that Silverstone link, those steel ones do compromise air flow quite a bit. I also saw someone ages ago on overclock.net did a test with something similar and while it did a good job of keeping dust out, temps were pretty bad vs a regular filter.

my mesh filter sheet has arrived from ebay. It's not remotely like the filter from my case. My filter is very fine, and I can't see the little square. So it's smaller than the ones that comes with any tower case. Is that a good thing or bad thing?

Probably good for stopping dust, but it may also be good at stopping the air as well, which obviously isn't ideal. All depends how restrictive it is. You could do a crude little test and put a fan one side, see how much air you feel coming through the other side.

Digging this back up since I'm interested in making my own filters.

Reading up, nylon definitely seems to be the material of choice. If DEMCiflex really have 100 micron holes then 150 mesh nylon sheet looks to be a perfect match (reference table)... their filters get great reviews, so it seems a good product to copy.

Alternatively, 125 mesh will give better airflow (approx 120 micron holes)... does it still filter sufficiently well.. probably yes?
