In the image above it's the little gold coloured fan on the mobo. I'm not even sure which component it's cooling. Is it the Northbridge or something  Anyway, this gold fan is making a right old racket that sounds like an old man snoring! I kid you not. Can someone please direct me to a replacement? Many thanks ;)

I think the fan is making a noise because it's on it's way out! I was just looking for a cheap replacement fan as, in all likelyhood, I'll probably be upgrading the mobo some time fairly soon. I just want to keep this one going until that time so the fantastic looking northbridge cooler posted by Nickcardwell is a bit overkill for my needs. I'd certainly think about getting one for my new build though. In the mean time can I just buy a new fan? What size are they & where can I buy one?

I don't see why the Noctua is being recommended, the Zalman £4 jobby is more than enough, no need to spend 4x as much.

Yeah. Looks just the ticket that one. I'll try & work out if it will fit (looks like my mobo has the correct mounting holes) & then go for for that one I think.

Are they east to fit? I read a review of that Noctua cooler, that was originally recommended, where the review described having to take out the mobo in order to fit. Why was this nessesary?

I'm guessing the current NB fan is fixed using push-pins, so you need to get underneath the mobo to clip them out I'm afraid.
ARGGHH! What a pain in the arse. All that hassle for a lousy North Bridge cooler when I'm looking to upgrade before to long (before Crysis comes out for sure). I might just let the thing break, **** up my mobo thus forcing the purchase of new kit ;)
