I have yet to overclock a system and therefore have never posted in this section of the forum.

I am looking to change my case to an Antec 300 and was wondering what your guys would suggest as a fan setup for that case. I would prefer it ran as quiet as possible but, if possible, would like to avoid the expense of a fan controller (and have never used one before)

Thanks in advance for any advice.

To place 5 in the case is looking at costing around £25-50, if the 2 that come with it aren't that great.

Just looking for advice really to see if it is worth spending the extra.

i've got the 300 with two fans on my eco at the back pushing cool air in,then a 140 at the top pulling hot air out.then a 120 on the side pulling cool air in

If you are considerin the antec 300 = £47
Then adding fans like you said =£25-£50
Wouldnt you be better just buying a better case with the budget of £72-£97

I'm with w1llyg on this 1. save the money and just buy a better case. Something like the HAF 922. Quiet and cool but not to everyones taste appearance wise. There are others in the same price bracket that are nearly as cool and quiet tho.
Makes more sense than buying a cheap case and filling it with new fans.

If you don't already have the case how do you know it will be noisy? The 2 fans it comes with have speed controllers anyway.

1 rear 120 x 25 mm TriCool™ Fan with 3-speed switch control.
1 top special 140 x 25 mm TriCool™ Fan with 3-speed switch control

I don't know it will be noisy, I did say "if the 2 that come with it aren't that great."

It may be that I only need/want 3 more fans.

Taking that into consideration, do you have any other suggestions?

I like the look of the Lian Li PC-7FN but it only has two fans.
