This is my case....

I currently have an intake fan (120mm rad in push pull) at the front and a 240 rad in the roof exhausting air.

My thoughts are this...

The air being brought into the case via the front fan will be warm due to passing through the rad. So the air getting pushed through the 240 rad in the roof will be warm air.

I'm not 100% sure if I can fit a rear fan inside the case due to the rad as I had to move the rad back a little to fit the recon fan controller in.

My options....

Leave as is and either have an exhaust fan at the rear - possible mounted externally.

Mount a rear fan as intake. Have the top rads exhausting and the front rad exhausting. This way all rads get the coolest air.

A portion of the rear fan will be blocked by the rad also.

Thoughts??......

Just thinking outloud here.... why not have both radiators intake and let air exhaust where it will? CPU & GPU are on radiators so only cooling needed is mobo and HDD.. and radiator exhaust air temp should cool them just fine.

Yeah... that's another option.

Possibly a better idea?? Then just have an exhast fan at the rear?

Fresh cold air coming in for both rads that way.

Like I said - temps are not an issue - just trying to suss out the best possible option here.

Thinking out loud here....

I think it would be better as suggested above to have both rads as intakes. That way both drawing cooler air in and having a rear fan as an exhaust.

If there is any performance decrease due to having the 240rad fans as pull instead of push, then I think the fact that I will be drawing cooler air through the 240 rad from the outside will balance this out in the long run, if not be better this way.

You wouldn't need an exhaust fan. I have one in my R2 but only because it give me airflows over Northbridge heatsinks.

No, rear exhaust fan won't hurt airflow but will increase noise and if mounted outside not look as nice.

Really it's down to what you like. :)

For anyone who finds this thread etc...

I have changed back to front rad intake and top rad exhaust.

Having both the rads as intakes was seriously warming up the inside of the case!
