Fan noise issues

Hi all
I bought a Corsair 750D case and putting everything from my old case into this one was super easy and I was pretty chuffed .
I love a quiet computer and this is where things take a turn for the worse...
My Fractal Design Adjust 108 Fan Controller did not like the Corsair 140mm fans at all and made them emit a strange noise , hard to describe but sort of like a rough grinding akin to a mini cement mixer.
As the Fractal runs my CPU fans ( Gentle Typhoons) superbly , I know the Fan controller is ok . So anyway I swapped out the Corsair fans for some
expensive BeQuiet 140mm silent Wings PWM and was shocked to hear them doing the exact same thing as the Corsairs ! the grinding all over again.
Plugging those into my Z77X-D3H directly didn't help much either as one failed to start turning on boot , even though my BIOS settings were correct and set to Normal Case Fan . So back went the Corsairs and they work ok plugged direct in the motherboard but as they are 3 pin and the Z77X-D3H has pretty lousy fan control , i'm sort of stuck for ideas what to do .

Its a long thread with lots of detail but basically it is a little device that plugs into a motherboard PWM signal and with some magic spits out a relatively clean adjustable DC voltage. Once set it just works automatically and does away with the need for a dedicated fan controller.

Sounds like it could have been made for me ;)
Once plugged into a 4 pin PWM does the device work on all the remaining sys fan outlets or do all fans need to plug straght into the device on one outlet. i.e sys fan 1 ?

It rather depends on what you want from the solution.

I've made some just for a single fan and some for multiple fans. I'm currently working on a new circuit version that can control 10+ fans. I mostly build ones with 3 fan outputs but do some with 4 outputs, and ones with off board wiring and connectors. I usually take pictures of them but of course none of them are showing due to photobucket. reckoning I exceeded the bandwdth allowance.

Once plugged into a header anything after the converter will be DC. Anything the other side will remain PWM, so with a simple PWM splitter you could drive normal 4 pin PWM fans and use the same signal and the converter to drive your 3 pinners. It does not effect any other headers.


Here's one. I add heatshrink on top.

Hi
I only really need to drive 3 fans ( two front and one rear ) all 3 pin .
My H105 pump is on the main cpu header and running constant 12v .
I guess the 3 pin fans would behave like PWM ones with the nifty converter and without the noise , am i correct ?
I have sent you a message as i am interested in getting one , silence is a rare thing these days !!
