I have been running my "Ultima Vanquish" for a while now and the performance is faultless for my requirements (i7 920 DO 2.66 [email protected]) but the noise
.
The CPU cooler is a Noctua NH-U12P Dual Fan Quiet pardon
(small print words - not mine) CPU Cooler.
This is running in an Antec300 case with front and rear fans and with the twin fans of the 5870 it sounds like a geo-thermal central heating unit and my nether regions freeze regularly with the draught under the desk
 .
There is nothing listed under Components > Cases > Noise dampened cases - so - what to do?
Water cooling will only get rid of 1 x 120mm fan (I think) so a special case would seem to be the answer, but which?

My original intention was to accept the stock case and re-fit everything into my old case but the huge CPU cooler knocked that idea on the head. My old case, from another well known manufacturer, has double skin sides and is steel as opposed to the alloy of the 300, so maybe I should use that with a w/c on the CPU.
