Fan on heatpipes

Would it be a negetive thing to have a fan blowing onto the heatpipes of a cpu cooler like the Big Typhoon?
Just reversed the rear case fan on my Antec P180 and its blowing air onto the heatpipes, will this help me stay cooler or will things get hotter because less heat is making it up the pipes to the radiator type bit?

the only way to tell is to test it....

i would say it would make things worse as the case temp will rise due to hot air not being extracted.
