Hey guys, I was looking to add some new fans to my case as it only comes with a front 120mm intake, but I'm getting confused with which fans should exhaust and which should intake, I was thinking a 120mm intaking on the side panel, with maybe a 120mm on the back or 140mm on the top exhausting. any suggestions? Many thanks, Alex

I am guessing that link goes to a competitors site so we can't look at it, either way the link doesn't work. What case do you have?

Generally speaking though, front and side are for intake while top and rear are for exhaust. Will be able to give a more specific answer once we know the case.

I belive his case is a Casecom 6788, <--- nvm OP beat me by 1second :)

But as stated in the forum rules

* Disguising attempts to do any of the above

Anyway i found this

You should have Front 1x120mm intake , Rear 1x120mm exhaust , top 1x 120mm or 1x 140mm exhaust. Side panel is optional imo if you want to cool down GPU but i think having 2x120mm is overkill. One should be enough

Cheers, sorry I didn't read the forum rules, I've edited my first post though :D Cheers for the advice, will probably hit up the 140mm top, 120mm back and 1 120mm side :)

If you install top and rear fans you'd probably not need side mounted fans as some fresh air will be dragged in through those holes, along with loads of lovely dust.

Hi xxela. If it were my setup I'd have a 120mm front intake with dust filter, dust filter mouted over the side panel fan position hole and 2x120mm exhausts at rear and top

This setup creates a negative air pressure inside the case which means that more air will be exiting the case than entering which is how you want it ideally as stagnant air is the best natural thermal insulator you can find :)
