Fan problem?

For the past 5 days or so i've been having an intermittent problem. When I first boot up i hear a beeping noise and on the screen it says something along the lines of "cpu fan fail or low speed" and stays at this screen. If i press the reset button the pc reboots and comes on fine with everything working great. Why would it first give a fault that is instantly fixed by quickly pressing reset? Also, a few times i took the side window off to check the cpu fan when i switched on to check if it was working, and each time the fan was spinning fine even though i was still getting an error saying cpu fan was failing =/

I have a arctic freezer pro btw, anyone heard of this problem?

if your asus board has the same options as mine, there is a bit where it has the min speed for your fans.. it might just be that the CPU fan is spinning slower than the setting likes.. try and disable fan speed monitoring or changing the speed it monitors..

Yeah the mobo headers only pick up the fan at >2000rpm normally, the Freezer fan may be spinning slower than that when the CPU is cold at start up, but by the time you've reset you could have heated the CPU up enough to get the fan speed up.

As said, just disable fan speed warning.
