FAN QUERY - Can you double them up?

I was just wondering if you could double fans up to increase the air flow of them?

What I mean is by placing a fan either directly behind or just a little bit off.

Or would this have a negative effect?

Just wondering.

Thanks

Airflow increases a little.
Pressure increases quite a bit.
Noise increases a LOT.

For biggest benefit to the pressure you ideally want them mounted a half diameter apart, in a tube/duct of some sort (so a 120mm fan would have a 60mm gap between the fans).

Far better off just buying a 38mm thick fan in the first place, the pressure is very good and the noise can be quiet (depending on the choice of fan, of course).

very little point if its a case fan, the increase in pressure from the fans wont assist much. They are usually double stacked for very thick radiators.

Not worth the effort.

Why are you thinking about doing this? Case temp problems? If so tell us what you have and we might be able to offer some guidance/advice.

No temps are ok. I just had an extra fan and was wondering if I could make use of it in any way.

I have a flap at the top of the case that isnt being used yet so I was going to put one in there. Just wondering what I could do with the other.

My CPU runs at about 58degrees on full stress at 3.2ghz. Havent touched the voltage yet. Currently running the Vcore at 1.35.

Wanted to try and get down to test 3.4ghz with extra voltage. As it wouldnt hold at 3.4ghz with that voltage.
