Hey, this is my first post on this forum so be nice :).

Basically my question is, my main inlet fan has a 3 speed controller switch attached to it. Now... Can i replace this switch with another and if so how?

Im making my own custom front panel controls so this would be useful :).

Thanks!

What kind of fan controller are we talking about here?
Is it one where you can simply plug any fan in and it will control it, or is it specific (i.e hard wired) to the main inlet fan?

How big is your fan, and what sort of connector does it have on it?

Its a 120mm Molex fan, the controller is like a tiny black box on some wire coming from the fan. I'd get a picture but the way ive routed all of my wires to hide them.... well the front of the case doesn't come off too easy now lol.

Sounds like you have an Antec Tri-cool.

You can wire a Tri-cool to a standard fan controller by removing the molex connector and joining up to a spare fan header. You can now set the switch to medium or high and adjust speeds using a fan controller. Avoid setting to low as the fan may stall.

Not quite sure how the little switch box works and what it does exactly so I didn't fiddle with it.

im making my own custom front panel, so id replace it with a 3 position switch. So i kind of need a guide for replacing the switch that is already on it, if anyone can help me.
